Biochemist/Cell Biologist Research Officer

An excellent opportunity is available for a Research Officer / Senior Research Officer to join the Callegari Lab in the Ubiquitin Signalling Division at Australia's pre-eminent biomedical research institute. The Callegari lab uses state-of-the-art technology to advance studies relating to mitochondrial quality control in disease processes and as a potential target for drug treatments.

Requirements

• PhD in a relevant discipline
• Research experience that has led to at least one 1st author publication in a peer reviewed journal in the field of biochemistry, structure and function
• Demonstratable knowledge and experience in cell biology and/or cell biochemistry techniques
• Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team
• Effective time management skills and ability to work on several projects in parallel
• Strong communication skills, written and oral, and an ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical researchers
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work constructively within a team environment
• Excellent attention to detail, ensuring that data, new methods and theories are accurate, of high quality and accessible to other researchers
• Ability to manage time effectively and be reliable and approachable
• Willingness to learn new skills
