Job Description
Provide medication delivery services, patient and staff education, and assist in day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy Department.
Requirements
- Screen and interprets actual copies of original Physicians orders.
- Dispenses routine, STAT and emergency medications to nursing units in a timely manner.
- Maintains adequate inventories of controlled substances in the Pharmacy & on the nursing units.
- Assesses medication usage patterns.
- Participates in annual physical inventory of all medications.
- Takes part in drug usage evaluations and quality improvement activities.
- Maintains awareness and knowledge of new drugs & techniques.
- Supervises pharmacy technicians or students.
- Assists in the orientation of newly hired technicians or students.
