Systems Engineer

Role Overview

The Systems Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, installing, monitoring, and supporting Microsoft Windows and Linux/Unix servers, storage systems, and virtualization technologies. They will administer standards, policies, and procedures to improve system availability, reliability, and recoverability.

What You Will Do

The Systems Engineer will plan, design, install, monitor, and support Windows and Unix based server platforms, VMware/Hyper-V technologies, back-up/communications equipment, and server management tools. They will troubleshoot, manage, and maintain system performance, and ensure thorough implementation of IT general controls and security standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Associate's Degree or higher Degree (preferred)
• Demonstrated organizational and project management skills
• Demonstrated analysis skills
• Ability to collaborate and consult with other technical teams
• Ability to learn new technologies, tools, and applications
• Strong communication skills
• Design and administration of server and client operating systems, active directory, storage systems, virtualization environment, monitoring/alerting, and backup systems
• Specific knowledge in Windows, Linux, HyperV, VMware, and backup platforms
• Knowledge on NetApp/Pure Storage Platforms, NetBackup, Netscaler, and CheckPoint Firewalls (desired)
• Microsoft, NetApp, Cisco, and/or VMware certifications (desired)
