Senior Nuclear Safety Anaylsis Engineer

Westinghouse Electric Co. is seeking a Senior Nuclear Safety Analysis Engineer to support calculations and validation experiments for nuclear power plants, waste treatment, and severe accident modeling. This hybrid position requires both on-site work at their headquarters in Bur Ridge, IL, and remote work options depending on individual circumstances and business needs. The role focuses on thermal-hydraulics and heat transfer studies. The position reports to the Manager of Experimental & Accident Modeling/Safety Analysis, Risk Applications, and Licensing.

Requirements

• Perform calculations and support validation experiments to maintain nuclear safety performance engineering calculations and assessments for nuclear power plants, waste treatment and severe accident modeling.
• Support thermal hydraulic analysis for system performance, water hammer, and other thermal hydraulic phenomena.
• Prepare documentation for evaluations.
• Verify first of a kind evaluations.
