The Speech-Language Pathologist provides services to identified speech-language impaired students, consults with staff regarding speech-language needs of students, and participates in MTSS building wide by providing communication, literacy, and behavior support.
Requirements
- Informs faculty members of the speech-language program
- Organizes and manages a schedule based upon the needs of each school and students
- Follows the appropriate state guidelines and district policies and procedures relating to speech-language services
- Meets the individual needs of students by developing materials for use in speech-language therapy, facilitation of classroom communication, and MTSS
- Maintains an accurate attendance log that reflects services provided during the year
- Logs Medicaid for each student on the assigned caseload
- Participates in the comprehensive evaluation or reevaluation of students identified with a speech-language concern
- Maintains current Individualized Education Plans for students on the assigned Speech-Language caseload
- Attends meetings of the Child Study Team when appropriate
- Serves as a resource person for school personnel, study groups, and community organizations
- Serves on projects as designated by the Coordinator
