Registered Practical Nurse - Medicine Cardiology

The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) provides quality patient focused nursing care to patients in the Cardiology Unit at William Osler Health System. The role requires recent cardiology experience, a minimum of two years acute medicine experience, and specific certifications and skills. The RPN will work collaboratively as a member of an inter-professional team and demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

• Recent cardiology experience within the last five years with a minimum of two years acute medicine experience required
• Coronary Care 1 required
• Must pass an arrhythmia interview quiz obtaining an 80% to move onto the interview phase required
• Must pass cardiology challenge exam obtaining an 80% within 30 days of hire
• Experience performing 12 lead ECG and rhythm interpretation within the last two years required
• Experience in care of patients with TPN, NG tubes, chest tubes, wound care, enteral feeds, IV therapy, blood collection and isolation within the last two years preferred
