Job Description
The Substitute Dance Instructor is responsible for instructing students, taking attendance, controlling the music source, demonstrating dance combinations, and following the substitute lesson plans and curriculum provided.
Requirements
- Serve as a positive role model and maintain a safe, supportive environment for students
- Instruct students with enthusiasm, creativity, and sensitivity to different learning styles and abilities
- Take attendance, monitor absences, and keep the Recreation Supervisor informed
- Represent the Park District with professionalism and courtesy to students, families, and visitors
- Follow Park District rules, policies, and guidelines for facility safety and cleanliness, including sanitizing and resetting the dance studio
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with staff, parents/guardians, and community members
- Follow Wilmette Park District safety protocols and attend required training; assist with minor first aid when necessary
- Actively contribute to the Park District's sustainability goals
