Provides therapeutic, diagnostic, technical and teaching respiratory therapy services to patients in a hospital setting. Requires registration with the MARRT and certification in CPR.

Requirements

• Entry-to-practice academic credential in Respiratory Therapy
• Current registration with the MARRT
• Certification/Licensure/Registration in CPR
• Recent and related clinical experience
• Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work cooperatively with other disciplines
• Knowledge of the physiological, social, cultural and economic aspects of patient care
• Manual dexterity and visual acuity
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
• Ability to lift heavy medical equipment
• Ability to push wheeled medical equipment
• Ability to move heavy gas cylinders
• Ability to assist with the positioning of clients
