Join Cambridge Memorial Hospital as a Registered Practical Nurse and participate in delivering exceptional healthcare to patients. Perform treatments and procedures, assessments, monitoring, and documentation of patient care. Assist patients with daily activities and provide education to patients and families.
Requirements
- College of Nurses of Ontario Certificate of Registration in good standing
- RPN Diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR certificate
- Medication administration course
- Excellent physical assessment skills
- Minimum of one year recent medical experience within a hospital setting
- Telemetry and/or oncologic and palliative nursing experience (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to work in a patient-centered, multi-disciplinary team environment
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and negotiating skills
- I.V. trained and certified (or willing to obtain within 6 months)
- Familiarity with monitoring patients receiving blood products
- Experience and demonstrated ability in CADD pump maintenance (or willing to obtain within 6 months)
- Knowledge, experience, and competence in managing complex pain and symptoms (related to disease processes and palliation) (preferred)
- Psychosocial skills and relevant experience with offering supportive emotional care to patients and their families
- Experience with Meditech system modules (preferred)
