Java Software Engineer Specialist - Big Data

Role Overview

Join the Billing and Funding team to help re-engineer the core payments platform to be more cost effective, scalable, and cloud ready. Design and build highly scalable, loosely coupled, event driven, distributed systems using Java and big-data tech.

What You Will Do

Write Java applications using various persistence methods, lead by example, and establish industry best practices across the team. Guide the team towards fostering an engineering mindset, adopting DevOps best practices, and using cloud technologies.

Requirements

• Experience in Functional programming using Java 8 or higher
• SQL and NoSQL databases
• Knowledge of building scalable applications in AWS
• Design/Architecture knowledge
• Experience of leading change and establishing engineering best practice in technical teams
• Great communication skills (written and verbal)
• Knowledgeable on BDD / TDD practices
