WSP is seeking an Associate Seismologist for our seismic team in California. The role involves assisting technical staff with research, source characterization, and modeling of geologic hazards. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Geology, Seismology, or Geophysics, and 1-3 years of relevant experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Seismology, or Geophysics
- 1 to 3 years of relevant post-education experience
- Knowledge of geophysical and seismological principles, practices, and processes
- Familiarity with the interpretation of geophysical and seismological data sets
- Analytical mindset with an ability to exercise sound judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Capable self-leadership with attention to detail, accuracy, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities
- Proficiency with scientific writing and discipline-specific design software (e.g., ArcGIS, Matlab, python)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team
