Senior Electrical Design Engineer

WSP is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their multidisciplinary Earth & Environment team. The team offers diverse clients and projects in surface and underground mine infrastructure, oil & gas, process and industrial facilities, and EPCM projects.

Requirements

• Work under the mentorship and guidance of a Lead Electrical Engineer
• Lead and execute electrical engineering designs from concept to completion
• Mentor and supervise Junior Engineer and Designers
• Work efficiently to assure that project schedules and budgets are met
• Knowledge and understanding of NFPA, Illumination Engineering Society (IES), IEEE (red book), ANSI design practices, and industry practices
• Develop and perform quality reviews for detailed and design documents
• Prepare detailed design documents such as single line diagrams, panel schedules, Motor schematics and wiring diagrams, equipment and e-house layouts, lighting, grounding cable and conduit drawings, general arrangements
• Perform sizing calculations for major electrical equipment and its components
• Perform 3D model clash detection and coordinate electrical design with other disciplines
• Perform complex plant layout and electrical systems using 3D design modeling tools
• Supervise, review, check and be responsible for quality of electrical designs performed by others in the design team
• Prepare and review Design criteria, equipment and construction specifications
• Build and maintain libraries of symbols and families for AutoCAD and REVIT
• Promote engineering professionalism and maintain positive relationships internally and externally
