Senior Environmental Engineer (Waste)

We are looking for a Senior Environmental Engineer (Waste) to join our team at WSP. As a key member of our environmental team, you will work on complex groundwater challenges and shape sustainable water futures across communities. The successful candidate will have 7-15 years of experience in environmental consulting and a degree in civil, environmental, or geological engineering, or a related discipline.

Requirements

• 7 – 15 years of experience in environmental consulting
• Degree in civil, environmental, or geological engineering, or a related discipline
• Eligible for or currently holding a P.Eng. designation
• Experience working on projects within the solid waste sector, and familiarity with related environmental regulations
• Deep technical expertise built through hands‐on work in contaminant hydrogeology, geotechnical engineering, contaminant transport, or related domains
• Strong experience conducting and overseeing environmental field programs, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance
• Demonstrated ability to solve real‐world environmental, design, and permitting challenges across sectors such as waste, infrastructure, mining, or contaminated sites
• High comfort working in varied environments—from office analysis to field sites—with a commitment to safety
• Strong communication skills, including technical writing abilities
• Experience preparing landfill compliance monitoring reports
• A keen attention to detail
• Experience in waste program planning and implementation including preparation of integrated waste management plans, recycling plans and waste diversion plans
