WSP USA is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to support the Transportation Facilities Group in the New York, NY office. The position offers varied projects in the transportation field within the NY Metro Region.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering, or equivalent.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant post education experience in engineering discipline and prior structural design experience in transportation projects.
- PE Licensed (NY/NJ) or capable of obtaining a New York State PE license within 1 year.
- Knowledgeable in state and city building codes, as well as industry standard specifications (IBC, ACI 318, AISC 360, etc.).
- Prior experience working with construction documents.
- Knowledgeable in STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, RAM Structural System, Mathcad, Excel or similar structural design software.
- Proficiency of AutoCAD and REVIT; knowledgeable in MicroStation and Open Building is a plus.
- Interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
- Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results oriented, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, work independently, and comply with company policies.
- Excellent communication and writing skills and well organized.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
