WSP is seeking a Technical Project Manager, Civil Engineer to join our Washington transportation team. This position can be based out of our Tacoma, WA or Seattle, WA offices. The successful candidate will provide subject matter technical project leadership, and guidance with managing the administrative, commercial, and technical components of assigned project(s) or portfolio of projects in accordance with WSP’s core values, and the level of project services agreed upon in the contract by WSP and the client(s).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related major, or equivalent experience in a technical or engineering firm.
- WA Professional Engineering license required
- 10+ years of relevant post education experience in a project management role within Transportation industry.
- A minimum of 5+ years’ project management experience on transportation infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with Sound Transit, WSDOT, and City of Seattle engineering practices.
- Highly proficient with civil engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, standard of care, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.
- Highly proficient with transportation and infrastructure design.
- Proficient understanding of project delivery process within the A/E/C industry and strong background and experience in project management.
- Highly proficient analytical and organizational skills, with business acumen to bridge the business and project management.
- Highly proficient critical thinking and problem-solving skills to make assessments and calculations involving the application of project management principles, with a sound understanding of intent, impact, and optimal outcomes.
- Highly proficient interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively, persuasively, and tactfully with leadership, subcontractors, and employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strong self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and adjusting readily to the changing prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
- Works independently to provide guidance and leadership to mid-level to senior-level team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
- Proficiency with technical writing, office automation, relevant software, MS Office suite products (e.g., Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint), technology, spreadsheets, and PM tools.
- Experienced with providing critical review for documents and preparing project deliverables and plans with a high degree of complexity.
- Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating resources and assertively directing consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and others to consistently complete tasks competently and efficiently.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical work week.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
