Vice President Structural Engineer

WSP is seeking a Vice President, Structural Engineer to lead the structural engineering discipline and function, providing strategic leadership and technical expertise to ensure project and work site deliverables are successfully achieved. The role involves managing complex structural engineering projects, leading technical aspects of contract negotiation, and developing business and strategy for the company's structural engineering work.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering
• 12+ years of relevant post-education experience in structural engineering design
• NYS Professional Engineer license required (multi-state preferred)
• Advanced proficiency with structural engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, standard of care, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues
• Advanced proficiency with bridge and infrastructure design
• Strong working knowledge of relevant structural and civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements
• Advanced proficiency with making technical computations and calculations involving the application of engineering principles
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills
• Tactical lateral thinking and strong analytical skills
• Advanced proficiency with office automation and discipline-specific design software (i.e., MicroStation, AutoCAD, Midas, ANSYS, LARSA 4D, STADD)
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
