Peer Recovery Support Specialist role that requires providing personal guidance and support to individuals with substance use disorders in WVU Health System affiliated treatment settings.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Substance Use Disorder Peer Recovery Certification (PRSS-SUD)
- Valid Driver's License (preferred)
- Certificate of completion of the CCAR Recovery Coaching in the Emergency Department (preferred)
- Active participation in the recovery for two or more years and current active attendance at community recovery meetings (preferred)
- State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable)
- Completion of HIPAA training and compliance
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of people
- Ability to analyze information and evaluate results
- Ability to develop specific goals and plans
- Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships
- Skilled at working as a team member
- Skilled at written and oral communication
- Knowledge of basic computer applications: Word and Excel
