Peer Recovery Support Specialist

Peer Recovery Support Specialist role that requires providing personal guidance and support to individuals with substance use disorders in WVU Health System affiliated treatment settings.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Substance Use Disorder Peer Recovery Certification (PRSS-SUD)
• Valid Driver's License (preferred)
• Certificate of completion of the CCAR Recovery Coaching in the Emergency Department (preferred)
• Active participation in the recovery for two or more years and current active attendance at community recovery meetings (preferred)
• State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable)
• Completion of HIPAA training and compliance
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of people
• Ability to analyze information and evaluate results
• Ability to develop specific goals and plans
• Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships
• Skilled at working as a team member
• Skilled at written and oral communication
• Knowledge of basic computer applications: Word and Excel
