OTC XBS Billing Specialist

The OTC XBS Billing Specialist is responsible for collecting overdue payments, negotiating liability settlements, and seeking reimbursement from healthcare providers. The role involves building knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers, and requires moderate decision-making authority guided by policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Collect overdue payments and establish re-payment arrangements
• Negotiate liability settlements with third parties or healthcare providers
• Seek reimbursement from healthcare providers and/or ensure payment of claims by insurance carriers
• Build knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers
• Apply legal principles and practices of subrogation to maximize recoveries
• Analyze and review paid medical claims to ensure recovery amount is consistent with settled agreement
• Apply coordination of benefits (COB) practices to minimize overpayment by client
• Perform onsite auditing of healthcare providers' accounting records to identify and recover overpayments
• Review and interpret employee benefit plan language or insurance contracts to ensure plan rights are adhered to
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legislation regarding reporting and privacy issues
