Direct Support Professional - DSP 1 assists individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities in maximizing their strengths, interests, and abilities, upholding their personal rights, and providing emotional support and building positive relationships.

Requirements

• Assist individuals with personal care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Provide medication administration, as prescribed
• Teach and develop skills, including communication, self-expression, and resolving disputes
• Support person-centered advocacy and facilitate ethical decision making
• Transport and escort individuals on recreational activities, medical appointments, and other outings
