Direct Support Professional - DSP 1

Assists individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in maximizing their strengths and abilities, providing emotional support and building positive relationships. Ensures health, wellness, and safety by providing supervision and managing crisis situations. Provides support with daily living activities, including personal care and medication administration.

Requirements

• Ability to meet essential physical demands of position
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Enthusiasm for working with people with I/DD
• Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
• Ability to work beyond regularly scheduled hours/shift and/or to report to work as scheduled on holidays, in inclement weather or during other emergencies
