Special Education Self-Contained Teacher (TIA Eligible) - YES Prep Hobby Secondary (26-27)

YES Prep is seeking a Special Education Self-Contained Teacher to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding Life Skills teachers towards success with their students and student achievement through classroom culture and management, instructional planning, and delivery. The role involves developing and executing the vision for Alternate Instruction at YES Prep, managing YSTEP units, and supporting teachers in collecting and analyzing student performance data to drive instructional decisions.

Requirements

• Experience with Life Skills programming or similar settings
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
• At least 3 years of exemplary Special Education teaching experience
• Outstanding record of student achievement results
• Hold a valid Texas Educator Special Education Certification
• Hold a valid Texas Educator Certification in Core Content
• Belief in and commitment to the mission and core value of YES Prep Public Schools
• Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback
• Demonstrated ability to work on a team
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and initiatives at once
• Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
