ESTIMATOR

The ESTIMATOR position is responsible for analyzing blueprints, specifications, and proposals to prepare estimates for products, projects, or services. The role involves reviewing architectural plans, consulting with clients and vendors, and computing cost factors to provide accurate estimates.

Requirements

• Reviews architectural plans and other data to determine material and labor requirements
• Prepares documents including material take-offs, estimates, quotes, quote logs, and the Scope of Work
• Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
• Interfaces with other individuals in the organization to obtain support and commitment to the cost estimates
• Computes cost factors and trends
• Prepares estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, scheduling work, and process improvement
• Analyzes completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual costs and determine the reason for any discrepancies
• Provides improvement recommendations
