The Technical Engineer position includes, but is not limited to the following duties: Plans, directs and coordinates manufacturing processes in the industrial plant assigned.
Requirements
- Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods.
- Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow and designed layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
- Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods
- Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards
- Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions
- Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes
- Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential
- Provide technical training and support to mechanics
- Through established PM programs, works to reduce process costs by improving machine efficiencies
- Orders and maintains proper machine parts inventories. Ensures needed machine parts and supplies are on hand
- Advises department’s management staff when machine parts are to be ordered
- Performs any other duties assigned by management
- Supervision and Scope of Position: Directly supervises 3 to 5 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
