Certified Personal Trainers are responsible for developing and implementing individualized workout regimens and conducting fitness assessments for members.
Requirements
- Current national Personal Trainer certification as recognized by the YMCA is required.
- Experience in developing personalized exercise programs for general populations and for people with specific concerns (obesity, heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, etc.).
- Minimum 1 year of experience in personal training instruction.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a college degree preferred.
- Current CPR and First aid certification required.
- Experience in conducting scientifically valid fitness assessments.
- Must possess effective motivation and communication skills, interpersonal skills, and sales and marketing skills.
- Must be highly self-motivated and able to perform superior work without direct supervision.
- Must be customer service oriented and able to work effectively with a diverse group of people.
