Job Description
The Rockwell Plaza YMCA is seeking a Swim Instructor to provide leadership and safety for instructional areas, maintaining a safe environment for all program participants. Instructors will teach swim lessons, representing the YMCA's mission and promoting character development. No lifeguard experience required, training will be provided.
Requirements
- Mental alert in dangerous situations
- Ability to swim with arms and legs and use aquatic equipment for rescues
- Cooperative and compassionate attitude
- Ability to relate to young people of all ages
- Knowledge of YMCA Swim Lessons and safety procedures
- Commitment to character development
- Physical ability to swim to various locations
- Certification in PR/CPR, AED, O2 and First Aid (or provide training)
- Personal characteristics consistent with YMCA Character Development Core Values
