The YOUNG MENS CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION RARITAN BAY AREA, operating as a branch of the Raritan Bay Area YMCA, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the Perth Amboy community through mental health prevention and intervention programs, youth development, and healthy living initiatives. It offers in-home, outpatient, and virtual mental health services to children, youth, and families, aiming to improve community well‑being.
Open Positions
Gym Wellness Staff
High school diploma, CPR/First Aid certification, strong customer service skills, and physical ability to stand for extended periods
Fitness Program Instructors
High school diploma or equivalent required, minimum 2 years of experience teaching or instructing, and passion for working with children and youth
Lifeguard
Lifeguard certification & current Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid certifications are required
Group Fitness Instructors
High school diploma, group fitness certification, CPR/AED, previous experience leading classes, and physical ability to lift and handle equipment
Mental Health Clinician - FT
Master's or Doctoral degree in related field. Active NJ License (LAC, LPC, LSW, LCSW, LMFT, PhD) or equivalent. Prior youth engagement experience & knowledge of therapy modalities are needed
Morning Lifeguard
Early morning availability required. Lifeguard certification is needed (free). CPR/AED and First Aid certs are standard
Afterschool Program Counselors - Childcare
Experience in education/childcare preferred. Strong communication & teamwork skills. CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
Personal Trainer - Morning
Bachelor's degree (exercise science or related), certified personal trainer, CPR/AED/First Aid Certification. Strong knowledge of exercise physiology & anatomy is preferred
Swim Instructor
High School Diploma & Red Cross certifications required. Prior swim lesson experience is also necessary
Mental Health Clinician - Part Time; In-Home and Outpatient
Master’s degree in related field. Active NJ license required. Commitment to youth engagement and therapeutic skills
