Field Technician II - Salt Lake City, UT

Field Technician II role at Zayo, responsible for performing duties associated with hands on functions within the telecommunications industry, including installation, testing, and maintenance of various types of equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical, mechanical, and electrical background, and be familiar with major manufacturers of transport equipment, high voltage electrical systems, and DC power plant.

Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years Telecom Field experience: installing, testing or turning up a variety of telecommunications equipment including SONET, TDM, DWDM, and IP
• 2+ years ISP, DC Power, OTDR experience required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic telecom and/or industry safety training, a plus.
• Ability to maintain eligibility to operate a company issued vehicle per our policy (no more than 2 moving violations within the past 3 years); this includes possession of a state-issued driver's license for the state in which you live.
• Ability to reasonably work within the company's systems and applications to complete work.
• Ability to regularly lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
