Job Description
ZEISS is seeking a Head of Embedded Systems Development to lead a team of firmware and electronics developers and promote their professional development through targeted coaching, training and regular, constructive feedback.
Requirements
- Degree in software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering or a related field
- Several years of professional experience in the successful and cross-functional development of embedded systems
- Experience in technical and disciplinary leadership and in developing high-performing teams in a regulated environment
- Experience in collaborating with and managing external development partners nationally and globally
- In-depth knowledge of relevant programming languages such as C, C++, Python, as well as application knowledge in the use of Linux-based real-time operating systems, preferably Zephyr, as well as microcontrollers and bus systems (CAN, CAN-FD, TSN)
- Familiarity with modern product and software development methods and associated CI/CD tools, such as GitHub, Azure DevOps and Jira
- Application-related project management skills and the ability to use both classic and agile approaches as appropriate to the situation
