Job Description
The Layout Designer will be responsible for the layout of printed circuit boards for optical transport, line terminals, and customer premises equipment. This role requires collaboration with hardware and software engineers to ensure PCB design meets testability and manufacturability requirements and manage layout footprint. The role is an in-site position with a dynamic development team.
Requirements
- Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years' experience in PCB layout for high-speed Digital, Electro-optic, RF or Power Supply
- Basic understanding of electronic principles and circuit behavior
- Signal Integrity and Thermal Management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to identify and resolve design issues
- Understanding of Mechanical design principles relevant to PCB design
- Experience with Mentor Pads (an asset)
- Understanding of DFM/DFT to ensure boards can achieve high factory yield
- Experience with hardware design of high-speed circuits
