Senior-Staff Mechanical Design Engineer (All Teams)

Zipline is a drone delivery service that is looking for Senior and Staff Mechanical Design Engineers to join their teams across the organization. The company operates on a global scale and is looking for practical problem solvers who can work on large integrated electro-mechanical systems from conception to production and deployment. The team will be responsible for designing and developing hardware for the company's drones and ground systems, and will work closely with software, integration, production, suppliers, and test teams to ensure that the hardware is functioning effectively as part of the whole system.

Requirements

• 5-15+ years of full-time working experience, designing electromechanical and structural assemblies
• Proven track record of complex subassemblies or full systems over at least two product programs
• Demonstrated CAD fluency for system-level ownership (3D/2D of 20–30 parts simultaneously)
• Experience working with suppliers and seeking DFM feedback
• Experience working on structural components and mechanisms, identifying worst-case loads, creating quick test setups
