Job Description
Frankfurt Zoological Society (FZS) is seeking a GIS and Spatial Monitoring Specialist to develop and implement a GIS database and spatial monitoring framework for FZSB-supported protected areas in Brazil. The role will be based in Manaus, Brazil and will involve conducting spatial analyses, producing spatial datasets, and providing technical guidance on the use of GIS tools.
Requirements
- University degree in geography, geoinformatics, environmental sciences, remote sensing or a related field
- Minimum five years of professional experience in GIS, spatial analysis and/or remote sensing
- Strong practical experience with GIS software (QGIS, ArcGIS) and spatial datasets
- Demonstrated experience in the analysis and interpretation of satellite imagery
- Ability to translate technical analyses into clear, actionable maps, summaries and outputs for non-technical audiences
