Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited university OR High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution and a minimum of four (4) years of experience in Health Information Management
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Coding Professional (CPC)
• Certified Registered Health Information Technician/Administrator (RHIT) (RHIA),
• Accreditation as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), BSIT, BSN or RN
• Excellent knowledge of disease and procedure classification systems and thorough understanding of official coding guidelines, conventions, and tabular list instructions
• Strong database computer skill in intermediate logic design with intermediate programming language
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, disease processes, surgical and non-surgical procedures, medical literature and revenue-based regulatory requirements
• Outpatient Facility Coding experience
• Knowledge of Evaluation and Management coding and professional billing
• Experience with: Multi-specialty EM Coding, Radiology Coding, Surgery Coding, Cardiology Coding, Pathology Coding
