The Building Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
Requirements
- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Address and resolve building system malfunctions in a timely manner to minimize disruptions.
- Respond to service requests and emergencies during and after business hours.
- Schedule and coordinate service calls with internal teams and external vendors.
- Monitor building management systems (BMS) to optimize energy usage and system performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and repair history.
- Escort vendors and contractors on-site, ensuring adherence to site protocols and safety requirements.
- Assist with capital improvement projects and renovations, providing technical input and oversight.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to schedule repairs and procure materials.
- Participate in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures for facility operations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address hazards promptly.
- Support emergency preparedness initiatives and conduct drills as required.
- Adhere to OSHA, ADA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with property management, tenants, and other stakeholders to address facility-related concerns.
- Provide technical expertise and recommendations to management on system upgrades and improvements.
