The Building Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure. This role supports day-to-day facility operations, ensures system reliability, and maintains compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Operate, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, air compressors, and related equipment.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on facility systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
- Maintain pumps, valves, piping, and distribution systems.
- Monitor building automation systems (BMS).
- Perform preventative maintenance programs.
- Respond to alarms and emergency situations.
- Maintain maintenance logs and documentation.
- Oversee contractors and vendors.
- Support cleanroom environments where applicable.
- Ensure OSHA and safety compliance.
- Maintain life safety systems.
- Perform general maintenance tasks (carpentry, painting, repairs).
- Adjust systems for seasonal efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement efforts.
