Host Full-Time, Summer Season May to October

Fairmont Empress is seeking a Host for a full-time contract position from May to October. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the restaurant, greeting and seating guests, and providing concierge service. A minimum of one year of experience as a server or host in an upscale dining setting is required, along with certifications and physical abilities outlined in the job description.

Requirements

• A minimum of one year recent experience as a server or host in an "a la carte" dining setting in an upscale, high volume restaurant
• Serving It Right and Food Safe Certification
• Impeccable grooming and presentation
• Completely fluent English language skills, both written and verbal
• Clear, precise, professional and helpful telephone manner
• Knowledge of organizing reservations and service flows
• Driven and focused on maximizing capacities
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritise
• High level of responsibility and commitment
• Team player with proven success in relationship building
• Commitment to providing excellent service and exceeding guests' expectations
• Comprehensive and current knowledge of local attractions, events, restaurants and transportation information
• Ability to anticipate guest needs
• Experience with OpenTable is considered an asset
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
