Deputy General Manager - Safety is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and monitoring of comprehensive HSEF programs at APSEZ, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment through risk management, employee training, emergency preparedness, and adherence to statutory and industry standards.
Requirements
- Plan, direct, and oversee APSEZ HSEF programs covering fire safety, hazardous materials management, hygiene, accident prevention, and risk management.
- Develop and promote continuous safety awareness programs for both employees and contractors to foster a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
- Eliminate risks of occupational injuries, illnesses, and property losses by implementing recognized loss prevention and control techniques.
- Lead thorough investigations of major incidents and accidents, review outcomes with department heads, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure strict adherence to state and central statutory safety requirements and industry standards across all operations.
- Plan, review, and conduct regular emergency and spill response exercises to ensure preparedness and effectiveness of response measures.
- Oversee periodic health check-ups for employees as per the annual plan to ensure workforce health and safety.
- Manage and maintain safety processes, documentation, and reporting in compliance with Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements.
