Job Description
ADAPT Community Network, formerly United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of NYC, is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering people with developmental disabilities. They are seeking a Habilitation Specialist to design and implement individualized programs for functional skill acquisition, supervised by assistants. The role involves liaison work with individuals and families, program development, staff supervision, and maintaining operational records.
Requirements
- Valid New York State Driver’s License
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good organizational and teaching skills
- Proficiency in the use of a personal computer and appropriate software
- Ability to operate wheelchairs and adaptive equipment
- Must maintain confidentiality of person-served records
