Job Description
Schedules and preauthorizes surgeries and specialized procedures, coordinates with surgical facilities, and ensures accurate information entry into the scheduling system.
Requirements
- Schedules office, surgery centers, and hospital-based medical procedures
- Pre-authorizes surgeries through insurance companies
- Maintains a surgical log for statistical analysis
- Provides pre-surgical packets to patients
- Coordinates with surgical facilities for special equipment or personnel
- Ensures pre-operative labs are ordered and tracked
- Audits automated phone system for scheduling accuracy
- Verifies and re-verifies scheduling for accuracy
- Interfaces with surgery center and hospital staff
- Maintains patient confidentiality
