Performs ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, produces images of internal body tissues, supervises and mentors ultrasound students, and maintains equipment in accordance with accepted protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in radiological technology or equivalent
- Certificate or diploma from approved ultrasound school
- Licenses/Certifications: Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification in Abdomen (AB), Obstetrics (OB) or Vascular (RVT); or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS); or Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Sonography (S) or (VS)
- Facility Specific License/Certifications: Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS)
- Department Specific License/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification
