Job Description
Aecon is a leading Canadian infrastructure development company looking for a Director, Environment to oversee environmental activities for major infrastructure projects in Québec.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- 20 years of experience in environmental management, regulatory compliance, or sustainability within the construction or infrastructure sectors
- In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and standards, including the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA) and Ontario's Environmental Assessment Act
- Professional certifications such as Registered Environmental Manager (REM) or Canadian Environmental Professional (EP)
- Proven experience in environmental risk assessment and mitigation on large-scale projects
- Strong leadership with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
- Experience with Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and familiarity with ISO 14001 certification processes
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
