Estimator

Aecon is seeking an Estimator to join their Utilities team. The Estimator will be responsible for generating accurate and timely cost estimates for assigned projects, analyzing documents and drawings, and coordinating with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or degree in a related field, at least 5 years of estimating experience, and strong computer skills. The company offers a competitive salary range of $80,000-$110,000 and a positive work culture.

Requirements

• Diploma / Degree / Trade Certification – Electrical
• Understanding of affiliated electrical, utilities systems and associated civil works
• Minimum 5 years estimating experience – electrical / hydro
• Capable of reading and understanding construction drawings and contract specifications
• Engineering experience or equivalent technical knowledge in the renewable energy industry
• Experience and knowledge in product selection and implementation
• Knowledge of contract language / Terms and Conditions / Surety
• Knowledge of job cost fundamentals and accounting / reporting
• Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills
• Strong computer skills – MS Excel / Word / MS Outlook, MS Teams
• Experience with estimating software
• Strong communication skills – oral and written
• Ability to work accurately, effectively under pressure
• Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines
• Self motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision or with others as a team
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required
• Professional designation an asset (P.Eng., C.E.T., CTech)
