Project Controls Manager

Aecon is seeking a Project Controls Manager to join their civil east division. The successful candidate will support major infrastructure projects and be responsible for setting project controls guidelines and responsibilities, implementing tools and systems, and providing guidance to project controls and operations teams. The role requires a strong background in planning, scheduling, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, estimating, and cost control.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Business or Engineering, or equivalent
• 10-15 years construction industry experience
• Proven experience and ability in planning, scheduling, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, estimating, and cost control
• Strong knowledge of the "Earned Value Management" principles
• Ability to produce, read and modify schedules and scheduling curves/reports
• Natural leader and team builder who can build strong relationships quickly
• Proven ability to effectively lead project controls staff
• Proven strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly identify and articulate issues
• Proven problem solver with sound judgment who accepts ownership and accountability
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees
• Detail oriented and customer focused
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of SAP and required project controls software which may include Primavera, Hard Dollar, Accubid
