Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to residents in accordance with required medical care and professional nursing practice. Supervises activities and provides direction to the Registered Practical Nurses and Personal Support Workers.
Requirements
- A sound knowledge and background in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing including activation, nursing, and personnel administration.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Knowledge of the Fixing Long-Term Care Act and Regulations, the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act, Occupation Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food and Drugs Act (Canada), Controlled Substances Act (Canada) Health Promotion and Protection Act, Personal Health Protection Act, Coroners Act, Provincial College of Nurses and Standards of Practice and other pertinent Federal, Provincial and Municipal Statues which influence the operation of the Nursing Home and more specifically the nursing department.
