Agnico Eagle Mines' Detour Lake Mine is seeking a Senior Mine Planning Engineer to provide mine engineering services, including coordination and optimization of efficient and safe mining operations. Reporting to the Mine Planning Superintendent, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategic mine plans and designs, ensuring compliance to HSSE policies and procedures, and leading initiatives to increase mine production efficiencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mine Engineering with eligibility for P.Eng registration with the PEO
- Strong safety leadership capability
- Minimum 8 years’ technical and operational experience in an open pit mining environment
- Experience in a range of mine engineering roles, including short term mine planning, drill and blast, production support, and mine operations in large and diversified mine sites
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, ability to influence and a high level of cultural awareness and sensitivity
- Self-starter, strong facilitation and communication skills (oral, written, listening)
- Deep understanding of value drivers, and ability to drive fact-based problem solving and decision-making
- High level of competence in the use of mine planning software, including optimization techniques
- Experience with Fleet Management Systems (Wenco) and use of reporting and analytical tools
- Attention to detail
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint
