Job Description
The Livestock Specialist will handle sires of varying ages and sizes, perform regular livestock care, operate company farm equipment and vehicles, and clean and maintain buildings, grounds, and equipment.
Requirements
- Comfortable working with large animals
- Ability to perform occasional planned weekend duties
- Capability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds
- Capacity to work on feet and stand for long periods of time
- 5+ years of previous livestock handling experience
- Experience detecting health and disease symptoms in cattle
- Ability to perform basic equipment and building maintenance repairs
- Post-secondary education in agriculture or related field
- Basic computer skills working with Microsoft Office
