The System Control Centre plays a critical role in safeguarding the reliability of the Alberta First Responders Radio Communications System (AFRRCS), a province-wide, public safety grade network that first responders depend on every day. As part of this mission-critical team, you help ensure that firefighters, police, EMS, and other responders have the communications backbone they need to protect Albertans.
Requirements
- Monitor AFRRCS in real-time to ensure continuous system availability and operational readiness across Alberta.
- Respond immediately to system events, alarms, and performance issues within a 24/7 mission-critical environment.
- Analyze system behavior to distinguish between equipment faults, environmental conditions, and operational factors.
- Apply detailed knowledge of AFRRCS technology, terrain, and user operations to determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Support the reliability of the command and control network that directly impacts first responder safety and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with internal teams and first responder agencies to ensure the system meets evolving operational needs.
- Document incidents, performance trends, and operational decisions to support continuous improvement.
