Job Description
The Ministry of Forestry and Parks is seeking a Wildfire Communication Technician to provide frontline support, operations, and maintenance for area and provincial telecommunication networks and subsystems. The role involves collaborating with a highly skilled technical team, maintaining and troubleshooting technical communication systems, and ensuring reliable communication platforms for Forestry staff, ministry personnel, and municipal government partners. The position requires a two-year technical diploma or a journeyman ticket in a related field, along with at least two years of experience in wireless technology, telecommunications, or instrumentation.
Requirements
- Provide frontline support, operations, and maintenance for area and provincial telecommunication networks and subsystems
- Support the planning, construction, operations, and preventative maintenance of remote communication sites
- Maintain and troubleshoot technical communication systems, telemetry networks, and other electronic systems
- Ensure reliable communication platforms for Forestry staff, ministry personnel, and municipal government partners
