The Chief Actuary at Aledade is a key leadership position responsible for leading the actuarial function at Aledade. The Chief Actuary will provide visionary leadership for and management of the actuary team, including forming close partnerships with the six main teams to support other duties. The Chief Actuary will lead Aledadeās Forecasting efforts, including working with Finance, Performance, Policy and other Analytics teams. The Chief Actuary will also lead the Reserving strategy and operations, including actuarial renegotiations with health plans, as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an actuarial leader in a healthcare setting, with a proven record of leading and motivating actuarial teams and 15+ years of relevant education + work experience.
- Deep familiarity with government healthcare programs and policies, particularly Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and the Affordable Care Act.
- Exceptional ability to communicate (oral, written) complex actuarial concepts and engage with various stakeholders, including health plan partners, other leaders at Aledade, and potential investors.
- Experience leading negotiations for multi-million dollar contracts.
- A strong record of collaboration at the executive level with other leaders, including working with colleagues on complicated, multi-group initiatives.
- Strong quantitative skills, including experience with statistical analysis and predictive modeling in healthcare contexts. Deep experience with Excel, Tableau, and other similar tools.
- Fellowship-Level Certification from the Society of Actuaries, or other similar credential.
- Experience leading actuarial or similar function at an organization that is āat riskā for the cost of medical care, such as an āat riskā provider system, payer, or contractor.
- Data manipulation skills, including working knowledge of SQL, R, and/or SAS programming.
- Relevant experience leading teams performing some or all of the key duties, listed above (forecasting, reserving, contracting, benchmarking, and creating the medical economics unit).
- Experience with healthcare data (e.g. claims, EHR, clinical).
- Experience analyzing data and communicating results in data visualizations, dashboards, and reports for a wide variety of audiences (company/ACO executives, internal staff, physicians, etc.).
