2nd Shift CNC Machine Operator

As a 2nd Shift CNC Machine Operator, you will work on various machines and tools to ensure conformance to specifications and meet quality standards. Responsibilities include loading and unloading parts, measuring dimensions, and performing setup activities such as mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces on machines.

Requirements

• Load and unload parts
• Measure dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications
• Stop machines to remove finished workpieces or to change tooling, setup, or workpiece placement
• Check to ensure that workpieces are properly lubricated and cooled during machine operation
• Set up and perform change overs and operate computer-controlled machines or robots
• Monitor machine operation and control panel displays
• Determine condition of tooling to ensure efficiency of operation and minimization of scrap
• Perform coolant checks, skim off tramp oil, and check refract
• Troubleshoots basic machining problems
• Modify cutting programs by making off-sets to account for normal process variations encountered during operation
• Adjust machine feed and speed, change cutting tools, or adjust machine controls
• Perform quality checks, including statistical sampling, and process capability monitoring
• Run first piece, inspect, and obtain Quality Department approval where required
