Utility Person

Performs a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of water distribution and wastewater collection system facilities, including inspecting, operating, and repairing facilities, responding to customer inquiries, and performing maintenance and light construction duties.

Requirements

• Ability to perform a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of water distribution and wastewater collection system facilities
• Ability to inspect, operate, and repair facilities, including water mains, valves, hydrants, and service lines, sewer lines, manholes, and service laterals, and pumping and flow control facilities
• Ability to respond to customer service inquiries, including service disruptions, service line problems, and grinder pump malfunctions
• Ability to investigate complaints and determine corrective action per company procedure
• Ability to perform new service activity, including tap installation and records keeping
• Ability to monitor plant operations and make adjustments as directed to control their operations
• Ability to operate and maintain plant process equipment as directed
• Ability to maintain all necessary records, including maps and records
• Ability to maintain tools and work equipment
• Ability to perform maintenance and light construction duties, including repairs and/or improvements to physical plant, custodial duties, and related building and grounds activities
